One of the incredible opportunities you have when you move to Mexico is to be able to discover the world from a different perspective. Cool day trips, a week-long adventure to discover a different area of Mexico… there are so many safe and easily accessible national destinations like seeing the monarch butterflies, traveling to Oaxaca City or visiting colorful, nature-filled Chiapas or tropical Veracruz state.

You are also at a different jumping off point for interesting discoveries south of Mexico in other Central and South American countries.

Many big destinations have super easy connections through Mexico City.  And now  TAG airlines is adding more flights to its lineup. Already operating out of Mexico City and Cancun, TAG is adding new direct routes from Merida and Oaxaca City to Guatemala City four times a week. TAG says it will soon add a direct flight from Huatulco to Guatemala City also.

Guatemala is known for its ancient Mayan pyramids, volcanic lakes lakes Atitlan, cities full of character like Antigua, coffee plantations, tropical jungles, hot springs and volcanoes. So whether you’re into cultural visits, hiking to the top of a volcano or shopping colorful local artwork and artisan goods, Guatemala is a magical country with so much to do.

TAG Airlines is operating 27 daily flights in Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Belize and Mexico, with a fleet of more than 20 aircraft. The other flights operate through Mexico City and other destinations around Mexico like Cancun. TAG or Transportes Aéreos Guatemaltecos is based in Guatemala.
