To get to the Oaxaca Coast, take a flight to Huatulco, Puerto Escondido or even Oaxaca City. All of the details are here below for this winter’s flight schedule. You can shop flights directly on the airline sites. This is always handier if you need to deal with any changes in your flights before or during your trip. It’s always easier to deal directly with the airline than with an online travel agency (OTA) like Expedia or Orbitz even though they have considerably improved their customer service. Getting to Huatulco (HUX) From Canada, WestJet offers direct flights on Fridays from Toronto starting November 1st, 2024 on Mondays from Calgary starting October 11th, on Thursdays from Edmonton starting October 8th, then on Thursdays and Saturdays from October 28 to December 15 then Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from December 16 to April 6. Flights on Sundays from Vancouver starting October 13th, and on Sundays from Winnipeg starting November 10th. Air Canada offers flights from Toronto on Sundays and Wednesdays starting October 27th. From the U.S., American Airlines flies Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from Dallas starting November 6th. From Mexico City, you’ll find 8-10 daily flights into Huatulco. Aeromexico has 2 regular daily flights into Huatulco, VivaAerobus and Volaris have daily flights. MagniCharters has flights 3 times per week on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, Aerotucan has flights from Oaxaca (check their website for schedule), Viva has Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday flights to Monterrey. Volaris also has Thursday and Sunday flights to Guadalajara. Getting to Puerto Escondido (PXM) Over 10 regular daily flights into Puerto Escondido from Mexico City are offered: 2 daily flights on Aeromexico, 1 to 2 daily flights with Volaris, 1 to 2 daily flights on VivaAerobus and additional flights on Magni Charters. Volaris has flights from Guadalajara on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. To get to Puerto Escondido, you can also fly direct to Huatulco and take a taxi or bus to Puerto Escondido. The Highway 200 is 4 lanes for most of the distance now shortening travel time to about 90 minutes. Getting to Oaxaca City (OAX) From Dallas, American Airlines has 2 daily flights to Oaxaca City. United has a daily flight from Houston. Volaris flies Mondays, Fridays and Sundays from Los Angeles. And from SoCal, take the CBX from San Diego to Tijuana and catch a direct daily flight on Volaris to Oaxaca City. The new highway from Oaxaca City to the Coast is complete and driving time to Puerto Escondido is about 2 hours 40 minutes and about 3.5 hours to Huatulco. It’s important to note that flight schedules are subject to change and new routes may be added as demand increases. Additionally, it’s always a good idea to check with the airlines directly for the most up-to-date information on schedules and fares. If you’ve made the decision to buy a new home on the Oaxaca Coast, get in touch and our agents will plan a visit with you. They are experienced in the home-buying process and have the answers to your questions.
