New Dallas – Oaxaca route through American Airlines

As part of the commitment to strengthen air connectivity and boost the tourist destinations of the entity, Governor Alejandro Murat Hinojosa inaugurated the new Dallas – Oaxaca – Dallas route on Wednesday through American Airlines. With this, Oaxaca now has three international routes to connect with the cities of Los Angeles and Houston in the United States.

This direct flight will carry out daily operations, from Monday to Sunday, with an Embraer ERJ-175 team with a capacity for 78 passengers, which will allow to have 2,347 new seats available on average per month.

“Today American Airlines becomes Oaxacan” expressed the president during the ceremony held at the International Airport” Benito Juárez “Santa Cruz Xoxocotlán, while adding that this new route that will connect the cities of Oaxaca and Dallas, derives from the efforts made by the Government of Oaxaca and the promotion that through the Tourism Secretariat has been carried out in the Tourism Fairs and Tianguis.

In the company of the Director of American Airlines Mexico, José María Giraldo Bejarano, the Oaxacan President said that with this the Government of Oaxaca makes a commitment to give an increasing boost to the tourist activity of the entity, because air connectivity is a a fundamental element to position Oaxaca’s tourism offer worldwide and increase the competitiveness of companies in the sector.

“I want to thank American Airlines for believing in Oaxaca. This is the largest airline in the world, that size is the step we are taking to continue building a vigorous state that shares its culture, history, biodiversity, greatness, magic and mysticism,” he said.

Also and after asserting that the Dallas Fort Worth International Airport is one of the most important airports in the world, since it occupies fourth place in terms of operations and 11 in air traffic; Murat Hinojosa said that not only is an airplane arriving in Oaxaca, but an entire logistics infrastructure of connectivity that few airlines in the world can have

In this way, he celebrated this achievement that contributes to the development of the entity for the investment it implies and that contributes to the economic growth that in these last two years -he said- has been 5.6% internationally.

The Director of American Airlines Mexico, José María Giraldo Bejarano said that the Dallas Fort Worth International Airport is the most important in the world, offering more than 200 routes with more than 800 daily flights, which will allow people from all over the world and not only from the United States of America can find the offer to get to Oaxaca.

“We are sure that today with Oaxaca, which becomes our 21st destination in Mexico, it will become an icon for international tourism because of all the wealth it has. Today, after 76 years of flying in this country, we are proud and we get more embellished with this new route,” he said.

In his opportunity, the Secretary of Tourism, Juan Carlos Rivera Castellanos, thanked the executives of the airline for betting on Oaxaca on the subject of connectivity, while asking the business sector to continue promoting this flight.

“Today, Oaxaca is valued in different markets nationally and internationally. Today we see this new route completed with American Airlines; Let’s do our job of promoting this great flight so that it has permanence for many years,” he said.

It should be noted that thanks to the tourism promotion actions undertaken, in this 2018 an influx of two million 142 thousand visitors was achieved, between nationals and foreigners, which generated an economic outflow for the city of Oaxaca, Bahias de Huatulco and Puerto Escondido, for an amount of 10 thousand 287 million pesos.
