Playa Tejón

Playa Tejón in Crucecita is part of the Bay of Chahue. It is the best place to enjoy some peace and quiet or to spend a romantic moment. The beach is virgin and its sunsets are breathtaking. Only 5 minutes away from Chahué Beach, take Chahué Boulevard that goes to the hotel zone of Tangolunda. A crossroads is located in front of the entrance of the hotel La Isla Huatulco and will take you to this beach. The access is by foot on a somewhat improvised path, but it is worth taking.

« Tejón » means badgers in Spanish. It takes its name from the animals that sometimes scimper across the beach looking for crabs or other snacks. But don’t worry, these animals will leave you alone as long as they don’t feel threatened. The beach is about 125 meters or 410 feet long and about 30 meters or 100 feet wide. The ocean currents are weak with gentle waves and shallow water. The shades of the water vary from emerald to turquoise blue. The sand is thick and pleasant. The beach is surrounded by vegetation where you can sit in the shade. The beach is also surrounded by some rocks where the waves come to break under the sun’s rays. You can enjoy the water diving or snorkeling or simply swimming in its beautiful waters.

Playa TejónSometimes you will even meet fishermen on the beach. This beach is open to everyone, whether it is for a romantic moment, a family outing or a picnic with friends.

So, what are you waiting for? Take your parasol, enough to quench your thirst and have a snack. No palapas and nothing to buy here. Just nature and unforgettable times.
