Home Beaches Playa San Crisanto Playa San Crisanto by Brent May August 19, 2022 by Brent May 4.9K San Crisanto is part of the Emerald Coast, which runs from the port of Progreso to Dzilam de Bravo. On this route you will find beautiful beaches and different attractions in each of the ports dotting the coastline. San Crisanto is located just over an hour from Merida. Although it may seem a way to travel to discover a beach, you won’t be disappointed by this uncrowded beach with its crystal-clear waters. This unique beach, about 3 kilometers long, is perfect for an ecotourism adventure. San Crisanto is also a small fishing village. You will enjoy a sweeping view with hundreds of coconut palm trees on your way into the beach from Telchac Puerto. Then you arrive in San Crisanto, a perfect combination of mangroves and beach. San Crisanto beach stands out from the rest because it is always clean and is one of the clearest along this stretch of coast reflecting a huge spectrum of color off the waters. It is the starting point for the cleanest, clearest and quietest beaches in Yucatan. You can take a colorful boat tour through the mangroves of San Crisanto which also take you to a clear water cenote, Dzonot-Tzik. San Crisanto became an eco-tourism area thanks to a group of inhabitants, who organized as a cooperative to both protect the coast and mangroves and provide tours. Through the ecotourism cooperative, tourism resources go directly to the population. In San Crisanto you will find good, cheap food. Near the cooperative there are some restaurants. Nine minutes away in Telchac, there are many more food options. It will be easy to find a restaurant with the catch of the day. 0 FacebookTwitterPinterestEmail Brent May Brent May is the GM and Founder of Mexico Living.
