The Yucatan Country Club, The Jaguar Golf Course

The Jack Nicklaus Academy and the Yucatan Country club are located half an hour from the Merida city center and the easy going coastal city of Progreso, in the safest state of the country.

The Yucatan Country Club is home to the Jaguar Golf Course designed by Jack Nicklaus. It is reputed as being the best golf course in Mexico and Latin America. With four lakes, five magnificent cenotes and Mayan archaeological remains, the course is truly unique. It has The Jaguar Course has 18 holes, par 72 with a playing distance of 7,295 meters. It has wide fairways and greens scattered around 11 lakes. It is part of the exclusive list of distinguished clubs thanks to the quality in the design of the golf course and its equipment, as well as its reputation and experience in golf championships. Indeed, it has been honored by various national and international awards such as the Best Golf Resort in Mexico in 2012 by GQ, or Best Golf Development by Americas Property Awards in 2015.

It has 18 holes of the Jack Nicklaus Signature Original category, a golf academy, a pro-shop, The Concession golf lounge, a 19th hole bar and a delicatessen. There is also a miniature golf course for children.

The Mayan heritage played a great role in its design since archeological ruins are scattered throughout the area. It is a unique opportunity to combine great golf and culture with this open-air museum.

The course is open six days a week. Closed on Mondays.

The Jack Nicklaus Academy of Golf

The Jack Nicklaus Academy of Golf provides golf instruction integrating technology, physical, psychological and nutritional conditioning. Students learn how to play, without reinventing their swing. The training is all about adaptation. Classes are open to all levels and are held at the Yucatan Country Club.

Plus, the academy has a night service, so you can practice under the stars.

The Yucatan Golf Club (La Ceiba)

With an organized and trained work team, this club offers excellent quality services and facilities. It was founded in 1970 by Vicente Erosa Camara and the architect Don Felix Mier y Tera. The golf course is composed of 18 holes, par 72. The club has memberships allowing you to use the club’s facilities that include equipment rental and golf carts, tennis, pool, gym, steam rooms and the restaurant bar that is open for breakfast, lunch. and dinner. You will also find a putting green and Pro-shop. The course sponsors lots of tournaments, has a golf academy and active club house. La Ceiba Golf Course accepts walk-ons.

The golf club is open from 6:30 am to 9 pm.
