Home Area Attractions La Punta La Punta by Brent May April 1, 2022 by Brent May 8.6K The point or La Punta is located in the southernmost section of Playa Zicatela in Puerto Escondido. The rocky outcrop, also referred to as The Point features a lighthouse and a number of homes spread across a wide area. Favored by surfers from all over the world, this stunning spot is an intermediate surf beach. You can set up a surf lesson right on the beach or at one of the surf shops on the street closest to the beach. At sunset, you’ll find a bohemian feel and laid back atmosphere. Everyone has a seat to watch the surfers and the sunset. You can typically join in a game of pick-up volleyball. On the beach, you’ll find a few palapa restaurants and small casitas where surfers stay to be close to the waves. In La Punta, referring to the village, you’ll find a hippie vibe with juice bars, slow food restaurants, and local designer clothing stores. La Punta has a typical Mexican pueblo feel. You can walk around barefoot on the unpaved streets. La Punta is a great place to spend a day. Have a freshly squeezed juice in the morning, take a long walk, have a healthy lunch, some shopping, take in a surf lesson or relax beachside and just enjoy the ocean breezes, warm sand and sunshine. beaches of oaxacaPuerto Escondido 0 FacebookTwitterPinterestEmail Brent May Brent May is the GM and Founder of Mexico Living.
