Home Area Attractions Playa Manzanillo Playa Manzanillo by Brent May August 9, 2015 by Brent May 9.3K Playa Manzanillo is located west of the lighthouse in Puerto Escondido. Of Puerto Escondido’s seven beaches, Playa Manzanillo, is one of the safest for swimming. It’s also one of the best for snorkeling as it offers a nice sandy ocean floor with calm, clear waters. To get to Playa Manzanillo, head west from the lighthouse and take the staircase down to the beach. Because of the stairs this beach can be difficult to access for those with mobility issues. Fortunately, you can also get there by boat. Once you arrive you can relax on the beach and enjoy the variety of snack shops selling cervezas, water and sodas or dine on fresh seafood and authentic Mexican food. There are also snorkel and boogie board rentals for about $4 an hour. Washrooms and showers (which are very rustic) are available to use for a small fee. The beach can get very busy on weekends, so get there early to save a lounge chair and enjoy the day! oaxaca coastplaya manzanilloPuerto Escondido 0 FacebookTwitterPinterestEmail Brent May Brent May is the GM and Founder of Mexico Living.
